月儿高

　　 This song is one of the best pieces describing the beauty of nature, and as its name suggests, it follows the rise and setting of the moon. The subtlety of the music begins at the front, and follows through to the end. Starting from the rising of the moon from the horizon, the slow crescendo and diminuendo shrouds the audience in a dream-like and magical atmosphere. The flowing melody weaves in and out of the song, adding a graceful and elegant touch to it. As the song progresses, the piece deepens into many different layers and spreads over the main melody. Finally, a quiet silence resides as the piece draws to a close. This mild and moving melody adopts the traditional Chinese structure, i.e opening, developing, changing, and concluding. This version for traditional orchestra is more colourful in expression, and vividly evokes the beauty of Tang court music.

　　第二段如歌的旋律，极富韵味，令人联想起飘飘欲仙的优美舞姿。在第三、五段，这个旋律在重复时，首句之后插入了长大的展开性音乐材料，使音乐得到了发展。尾部再现二段旋律时，第五段作了成倍的紧缩，并加了一个"搭尾"，结束在羽音上。第四段将曲首散板引序作了结构变动与扩充。
　　第六段--九段，将前面歌唱性主题作自由变奏，速度加快，节奏多变，旋律活泼跳跃，具有传统歌舞音乐的特点。乐曲呈现明显的层次发展，恰如舞袖翻滚、飞步环绕的热烈舞蹈场景。
