This post is regarding the National Chinese Music competition organised by the National Arts Council.
The competition will be held on the 2 - 14 December, Esplanade Recital Studio. The prize presntation will be held at a different venue.
The competition is split into two sections: solos and ensembles.
The categories and registration fees are as followed:
Junior: 12 years and below $50
Youth: 18 years and below $90
Open: 30 years and below $130
Instrus for soloists:
•Dizi
•Erhu
•Guzheng
•Pipa
•Sheng
•Suona
•Yangqin
•Zhongruan
We encourage you guys to participate in the solo section instead of the ensemble one cos it requires more time and effort to rehearse. :)
Registration closes on 1 August 2008 5pm. Top prize is $1000 in cash. You will also receive a certificate and trophy. Here are the requirements for the solo youth category:
Preliminary Round : One test piece
Finals : Two pieces of participant’s choice.
These should not include any piece performed in the Preliminary Round.
The performance time, including breaks between pieces, must not exceed 15 minutes.

Some comments on yesterday's practice:
1. We were too noisy.
2. Some people did not memorise their scores
3. Not enough movement
Please work harder for jubilate it is only one week away. Please also respect liu lao shi as well as the comm members who try so hard to keep the noise level down. Let's give the sec fours a memorable jubilate k. :)
Time passes so fast when you are having fun. :)
I guess the sec fours really had fun in SNCO. SNCO ROCKS!!!!
